Refreshing Cherry Paleo Sorbet Recipe

Paleo ice cream, paleo shaved iceThis recipe is kind of a cheat. It’s really just a frozen juice/smoothie that I’m trying to pass off as some form of glorified Paleo ice cream, but who cares? It’s delicious, good for you and reminds me of ice cream every time I eat it, so I don’t care if I’m “cheating.” You’ll be happy I did once you make it 🙂

The recipe is actually similar to a traditional sorbet recipe, hence the name, which are mainly composed of fruit and a ton of added sugar. This is obviously without all that processed sugar, which is completely unnecessary anyway as the fruit is naturally sweet on its own.

You can do this with almost any smoothie or juice recipe. Things that incorporate starchier fruits like bananas tend to have a more ice cream-like consistency, while a straight-up juice — more watery, less smoothie-like in liquid form — will have more of a shaved ice feel, but honestly, either way is really yummy and will totally satisfy that craving of wanting a frozen dessert.
