This little “super food” has become quite popular over the years, mainly for its high content of healthy omega 3s — more than flax seeds — minerals, vitamins, fiber and antioxidants.

Chia seeds have a very mild flavor, making them an easy addition to salads, eggs, smoothies and shakes. There are approximately 140 calories and 12 g of dietary fiber in 1 ounce of chia seeds.
